Lidia Teruel Sanchez

Born in Linares in 1987 Lidia began her musical studies at the age of nine in the Professional Conservatory of Music "Andrés Segovia" in her hometown. In 2006 she moved to the Superior Conservatory of Cordoba to continue training with the prestigious cellist Álvaro Campos, finishing these studies with the highest qualifications.

In 2010, after extensive selection tests, she was admitted to the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, considered the best conservatory in Europe today. While in London Lidia continued with her postgraduate studies tutored by Louise Hopkins and Pierre Doumenge in cello and members of "The Endellion Quartet", "Belcea Quartet" and Martin Roscoe in chamber music.

In the field of chamber music, Lidia has been part of numerous group; duets, string quartets, quartet with piano and trio with piano. With this last line-up, the trio "Moana Trio", has performed in important auditoriums in England, such as "Warwick Arts Center", "Barbican Chamber Hall", St. John's Church, Royal Festival Hall, St. Jame's Picadilly, St. Martin in the Fields, St. John's Smith Square, among others. All these performances have been thanks to the support of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama after winning first prize for Chamber Music at the school. They were also honored with the "Best Performers" award in May 2011. Among their latest successes are the invitation to participate in the "Dartington International Summer School" as the resident festival trio. Lidia is currently part of the trio "LeitMotiv" along with José Morales (piano teacher at the "Rafael Orozco" Superior Music Conservatory in Córdoba) and Alfonso Montanet (clarinet teacher at the "Andres Segovia" Conservatory in Linares).

Lidia also has an intense career in orchestral music having performed throughout Spain and part of Europe along with numerous orchestral formations such as: Madrid Philharmonic Orchestra, "Ciudad de Valencia" International Orchestra, London European Orchestra, London Arts Orchestra, Orion Symphony Orchestra , Guildhall School Symphony Orchestra, London String Orchestra, North London Philarmonia, under the baton of prestigious conductors such as Sir Colin Davis, James Gaffigan, Michael Thomas, Enrique Mazzola, Jose Luis Temes and Pedro Haffter.

She currently works as a cello teacher and as a music and movement teacher at various municipal music schools in the community of Madrid and since January 2014 she has collaborated in the training of the young musicians who make up the Cop Jaén Orchestra..

Lidia combines her teaching work with that of a performer in the Philharmonic Orchestra of La Mancha, the Isabel the Catholic Theatre Orchestra of Granada and the Saint Cecilia Orchestra of Madrid.
